AASAI - American Association for Social Advancement of India

AASAI is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The purpose of the organization is to initiate, develop, implement and/or assist or support charitable projects of educational, vocational, recreational, cultural, religious, and health service activities in India. The objectives of AASAI will be achieved through direct involvement in volunteering activities and initiating, developing, implementing projects and/or assisting or supporting, providing financial and other resources to existing charitable projects.

AASAI’s objective is to help others, so they can help themselves. Accordingly, AASAI provides resources for non profit organizations towards specific projects which generate income, to be used for pursuit of their charitable activities.

 
AASAI Supports TRUST
The TRUST operates through several service units, as noted above. All services are rendered completely free of cost to the wards.  To support these service activities, TRUST has presented specific proposals to AASAI, on an as needed basis, for funding and/or in-kind support. AASAI intends to review these proposals and support the TRUST towards specified causes as approved, after such review and as approved by the AASAI Board.
 
 
 
 
 
TRUST and AASAI has signed a MoU in this regard and in principle AASAI has agreed to support for all approved projects and also the initiatives for expanding & excelling the services rendered to the society.

AASAI raises its fund mainly through its donors and patrons.  AASAI’s contributions will specify the specific purpose for which the contributions are intended.The TRUST, as part of this MOU, makes the commitment to utilize the funds and other in-kind support donated by Aasai, for the projects specified and for the intended purposes only. The TRUST Society shall provide receipts for the expenses of that project and periodical income and expenditure report/statements showing that the funds are used for the intended purposes only. Final project report (financial) and on-site photos, videos will be furnished as well, as appropriate.

AASAI has representatives in India who visit and witness the facilities of TRUST and report back to the board about the progress & activities of the specific projects. Some of the AASAI executive board members from US usually visit the facilities of TRUST whenever they travel to India and extend their personal support & such events act as endorsements to the donors of AASAI that their contributions are effectively used in a genuine manner.
